Knack Studios set out to build a film post-production facility to international standards in Mylapore, Chennai. The facility brought multiple studios under one roof: a Dolby Atmos film mix theatre, a music studio with its own control room and live room, a dubbing studio control room and isolation booth.
The acoustic design came from WSDG, one of the world's best-known studio design firms. WSDG designed the isolation, soundproofing and room acoustics for the facility, modelled down to the last detail in simulation. What it needed next was a team that could build it exactly.

A WSDG design only performs if it is built the way it was designed. Knack needed an execution partner who understood the acoustic intent behind each drawing, not only its dimensions. We stepped in to take the acoustic design developed by WSDG and execute it with precision on site.

The result
The result
Knack Studios is now a working Dolby-certified, world-class post-production studio in Chennai, completed in 2016 after a 10-month build. Its film mix theatre seats 10 to 15, so directors, producers and the mixing team can review the final mix together. The project paired WSDG's international design with precise local execution, and it showed how Spectral Synthesis is trusted to deliver a studio of exceptional standards.
